Deiva Marina is a practical, affordable base for visiting the Cinque Terre: the railway station is minutes from the apartments, the regional train reaches the National Park in about 20 minutes, and the Cinque Terre tourist tickets are sold right at the station. Sleeping inside the five villages costs considerably more, and parking there is scarce and expensive: at Da Paolone your car stays in the free private car park below the house while you travel by train — which is also the best way to hop between the villages.

The free private car park is right outside. In the Cinque Terre villages parking is hard to find and expensive — a problem you simply won't have.
Take the train at Deiva
From Deiva Marina station, the Genoa–La Spezia regional trains take you into the Park in about 20 minutes.

A typical day
Villages in the morning, sea in the evening
The rhythm that works: an unhurried breakfast, a mid-morning train, two or three villages in a day using the train as a shuttle — the villages are just a few minutes apart — and back to Deiva in the late afternoon.
Back home you have two options the villages can't offer: a swim at Deiva Marina's beaches, wider and quieter than those of the Cinque Terre (with our beach club arrangement for the parasol), or the quiet of the garden, where on summer evenings the fireflies keep you company.
